Wes Moore
Under the leadership of Governor Wes Moore since 2023, Maryland has enacted laws to protect reproductive health patients and providers. Governor Moore signed legislation to create the Right to Reproductive Freedom constitutional amendment, which would enshrine the right to abortion and contraception in the state constitution. He has also signed legislation to reduce patient costs and protect consumer and health data.

The Moore-Miller Administration is committed to enhancing access to care not only for Marylanders, but for people in need of care from across the region.

“We are grateful to plant roots in the Mountain Maryland community,” said Women’s Health Center of Maryland Executive Director Katie Quiñonez. Governor Moore’s commitment to cultivating a legislative landscape that not only protects but expands abortion access has helped make this clinic a reality, and it will be a beacon of hope throughout Appalachia.

Access to reproductive health care is a fundamental right. We will continue to protect the health, well-being, and rights of Marylanders – and we will keep working together to ensure that Maryland remains a safe haven for reproductive care.
