Sydney is the Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives at the Reproductive Freedom Alliance.
Most recently, Sydney served as President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania (PPWP). During her tenure, she led the organization through its post-pandemic recovery, navigating the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and developing bold strategies to sustain and expand care in an increasingly hostile political environment. Under her leadership, the organization significantly increased access to high-quality reproductive health services, deepened cross-sector partnerships, and strengthened its advocacy infrastructure to protect and advance sexual and reproductive rights across Western Pennsylvania.
Prior to her role at PPWP, Sydney spent a decade at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) working alongside Planned Parenthood affiliates as they embarked on implementing the Affordable Care Act, fought numerous defunding efforts, and transitioned to innovative care delivery models. During her time at PPFA, she helped shape national health policy initiatives by embedding women’s health care into broader health system transformation efforts. Through this work she was able to support Planned Parenthood health centers across the country by securing critical funding, improving health care delivery models, and navigating complex policy landscapes—ultimately shaping more inclusive and responsive health systems nationwide.
Sydney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.
