Reproductive Freedom Alliance Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Mifepristone

The following statement is attributable to Christina Chang, Executive Director of the Reproductive Freedom Alliance (RFA):

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: May 14, 2026

“Today’s Supreme Court decision brings a measure of relief, but not a resolution. While access to mifepristone through telehealth and certified pharmacies remains in place for now, the continued legal uncertainty underscores how fragile reproductive freedom remains.  People across the country rely on mifepristone as a safe, effective, and trusted medication, whether for medication abortion or miscarriage management, and access should never be threatened by a political agenda. The safety of mifepristone is backed by decades of scientific evidence and affirmed by every major medical organization in the country. Patients and providers deserve certainty, not ongoing legal disruption driven by those seeking to dismantle reproductive health care access nationwide.

As we await further developments in this case, the governors of the Reproductive Freedom Alliance remain fully committed to protecting reproductive freedom and will continue to deploy every available tool to defend access to care in their states.”
